Calumet Park Recreation Department
Jonathan Shaw, Director, Calumet Park Recreation Department, discuss the importance of its collaboration with Beacon's Junior/Senior High Therapeutic Day School. Beacon's Therapeutic Day School serves students who have cognitive delays, autism, learning disabilities, behavior disorders and other health impairments.
The Calumet Park Recreation Association (CPRA) was established in 1962 to provide recreation for the community. The Recreation Center is home to many community programs and activities. Some of these programs and activities include: Computer Classes, an After School Program, Summer Day Camp, Aerobics, Recreation Center Basketball Teams, Calumet Park Rams Football, Calumet Park Little League, Open Gym, and a Weight Room. The Calumet Park Recreation Department provides employment for youth in the community and also provides a positive and safe environment for the youth and adults.
