HOMES

Beacon’s Family Housing Outreach Mobile Engagement Services (HOMES) program is an outgrowth and continuation of the 100,000 Homes Campaign—a national grassroots initiative to identify and place long-term homeless individuals and families.

Beacon Family Housing Outreach Mobile Engagement Services (HOMES)

Beacon’s Family Housing Outreach Mobile Engagement Services (HOMES) program provides outreach, engagement and immediate response to urgent needs, quickly relocating highly vulnerable families into stable housing. Created from the 100,000 Homes campaign—a national effort to provide housing to 100,000 households nationwide by July 2013—Beacon’s HOMES program continues to play an important role in the delivery of homeless services in Chicago.

During the 100,000 Homes campaign, Beacon led the charge in developing the Family Vulnerability Index (FVI), which continues to be a valuable tool for identifying and prioritizing homeless families for housing. Beacon’s HOMES program is funded by the Chicago Community Trust and is operated in partnership with the Center for Housing & Health.
