Making Spirits Bright
Beacon Therpapeutic hosted its 21st Annual Holiday Supper Friday, December 6, 2013 and it was a HUGE success! More than 250 guests reveled in a magical evening that included a delicious dinner, open bar, romantic carriage rides throughout the beautiful Beverly neighborhood, an impressive silent auction, exciting raffles, scrumptious treats from Mrs. Claus's Kitchen, great music and our first ever Mission Moment Paddle Raise.
This time-honored event raised more than $120,000 for Beacon's Homeless Outreach Services and we are so grateful for these desperately needed funds! During the program, Lakeisha, once a participant in Beacon's Homeless Outreach Services, gave a heart-wrenching testimony as to how the program transformed her life.
Susan Reyna-Guerrero, LCSW, President and CEO stated, "I am so humbled and grateful! We live and work among some incredibly charitable people who believe in the work we do. This is a result of trust in Beacon and credibility in the community."
A huge THANK YOU to our event committee and congratulations to our Honorees: "Brightest Light in Illinois" Clune Construction; "Opening Doors to the Future" Therese Naso; "The Warmest Heart" Mike and Laurie Stanton; "The Children's Champion" The World of Kevin (T.W.O.K.) Band; and, Special Guests Charles Thomas of ABC7 and his wife Mary.
THANK YOU to all our Holiday Supper sponsors, donors, attendees, auction donors and auction winners, raffle sellers, and Mission Moment pledges!
THANK YOU to Beacon's Board of Directors, the Junior Board, and staff for their continued commitment to serving those in need. Friday, December 6, 2013 was a wonderful night filled with a community of Champions! Beacon's 21st Annual Holiday Supper is a true testament of how, with exceptional teamwork, we are making substantial strides in meeting and exceeding our goals to help some of the most vulnerable families to experience a new ending from a disadvantaged beginning.
