Beacon operates two accredited, therapeutic day schools offering special education services to children that are unable to be adequately served in their local schools. As a leading Chicago alternative school, Beacon Therapeutic day schools level the playing field for disadvantaged children and allow them to continue their educations, despite the challenges their families are facing.
Founded in 1968, our full-day, year-round school program offers a variety of services to students, including special education, needs assessments, counseling, social work, occupational therapy, speech and language, therapy, psychiatric/psychological , nursing, learning disabilities identification and remediation.
Beacon is a Contract School Provider for Chicago Public Schools (CPS). Student tuition is funded by CPS or by the student’s respective suburban school district.
