Mental Health Community Services

Outpatient Services Facts

During the 2007-2008 fiscal year 108 individual clients received services from Beacon's Outpatient Clinic. 79 individual clients received service from our Intensive Outpatient Service/Mental Health Day Treatment programs.

Many of the children served by Beacon Therapeutic are able to attend their neighborhood schools and participate in the mainstream of society.  However, they require ongoing therapy from a community mental health center.  For some of these children, Beacon’s services are an alternative to a specialized school placement; others receive evaluations, support, and treatment designed to maintain and/or improve their functioning in the home and school.  Our short-term crisis intervention helps some children deal effectively with trauma and return to their former routines while other children may need months or years of treatment to transcend their challenges and function to their capacity.

Beacon is certified to provide Medicaid Community Mental Health Services which is intended to meet the needs of children who do not require a full-day or extended mental health program. Treatment services include individual and family therapy, psychiatric evaluation, psychological testing, and case management.
