Substance Abuse Intervention Initiative
The Substance Abuse Intervention Initiative (SAII) is a ARRA/CSBG grant funded program designed to serve both existing Beacon participants as well as new referrals (for Chicago residents) who are experiencing or beginning to experience difficulties with substance use, or have family members with substance abuse issues. The team consists of a Project Team Leader (LCSW with substance abuse experience, 2 CADC’s, and a Child and Family Therapist (LSW). Participants will receive services from a licensed therapist and CADC team in order to effectively address both the substance use and the impact of that use on children and family members. The program provides services in-home, at shelters and at Beacon's High School. Services are provided in individual, family, and group formats, according to the household service plans developed at intake. Any program/outside agency may refer existing participants for treatment. While the program is housed at Beacon's High School, the majority of services are provided off site.
